Connect Grok to Deplomo with MCP

Uses the shared MCP template to view project status and perform authorized operations on Deplomo services. MCP retrieves current service information from Deplomo, so the agent can respond based on the actual state of your service.

terminal: gr

$ deplomo setup agent --agent grok

→ MCP configured in .mcp.json

→ Deplomo usage guide installed

✓ Ready to inspect existing services

Connect in three commands

Install the Deplomo CLI and sign in first. The third command adds the MCP configuration and Deplomo usage guide to your project.

Install the Deplomo CLI

curl -fsSL https://get.deplomo.com/install.sh | sh

Windows (PowerShell):

irm https://get.deplomo.com/install.ps1 | iex

Sign in to your Deplomo account

deplomo login

Connect Grok

deplomo setup agent --agent grok

The third command saves the Deplomo connection in .mcp.json . If Grok is open, restart it after setup.

Example prompts for an agent

These example requests illustrate how an agent can inspect available information about an existing service. Service creation and deployment are currently paused; access depends on your client, account, and permissions.

«Find the service related to this project and explain its current status in a few sentences.»
«Check the service's domains and non-secret variables and report any potential inconsistencies.»

How to connect Grok to Deplomo with MCP

xAI’s Grok models can assist with coding and data analysis. With an MCP client configured, you can connect Grok to Deplomo tools and ask about available information for a service. The tools and model features depend on your configuration and provider.

Connect Grok to cloud services with MCP

The open Model Context Protocol (MCP) can connect a compatible Grok client to Deplomo tools. Depending on the client, permissions, and service, available tools may show service details, domains, environment-variable names, or build information. Do not share secret values in prompts.

Set up Grok with the .mcp.json configuration file

To configure Grok to connect to Deplomo, run this command in your project directory:

deplomo setup agent --agent grok

This command creates or updates .mcp.json at the project root with Deplomo’s MCP server settings. After setup, you can ask about available information for a service. Service creation and deployment are currently paused.

Grok in the AI coding ecosystem

Across the expanding range of AI coding agents , xAI’s models offer another option for coding and project analysis. Features vary by model and provider. For a terminal-focused coding assistant, see the guide for Claude Code and choose tools that fit your project.

Access comes from your Deplomo CLI session

Grok No separate token is needed. Secret values are not displayed in tool responses. Check the requested resource and environment, and review the action before running it.
