Connect OpenAI Codex CLI to Deplomo with MCP

Connect Codex to Deplomo MCP tools to inspect existing service status and logs, where available. Service creation and deployment are currently paused. MCP retrieves current service information from Deplomo, so the agent can respond based on the actual state of your service.

terminal: cx

$ deplomo setup agent --agent codex

→ MCP configured in .codex/config.toml

→ Deplomo usage guide installed

✓ Ready to inspect existing services

Connect in three commands

Install the Deplomo CLI and sign in first. The third command adds the MCP configuration and Deplomo usage guide to your project.

Install the Deplomo CLI

curl -fsSL https://get.deplomo.com/install.sh | sh

Windows (PowerShell):

irm https://get.deplomo.com/install.ps1 | iex

Sign in to your Deplomo account

deplomo login

Connect Codex

deplomo setup agent --agent codex

The third command saves the Deplomo connection in .codex/config.toml . If Codex is open, restart it after setup.

Example prompts for an agent

These example requests illustrate how an agent can inspect available information about an existing service. Service creation and deployment are currently paused; access depends on your client, account, and permissions.

«Deploy this project to Deplomo. If deployment fails, read the logs and fix the problem.»
«Investigate the latest failed deployment and explain the root cause with evidence from the logs.»

Configure OpenAI Codex CLI to use the Deplomo MCP server

OpenAI Codex CLI is a command-line coding agent. The Deplomo CLI setup command can add the MCP server to Codex configuration so it can call supported Deplomo tools. Available capabilities depend on the client, permissions, and environment.

Use Codex with MCP to inspect Deplomo services

The Deplomo MCP server provides tools for supported service tasks, including access to deployment logs. Codex can use the tools available to its configured account; service creation and deployment are currently unavailable in the international sandbox.

Configure Codex CLI for Deplomo MCP

Install the Deplomo CLI and run the setup command from your project directory to configure the MCP connection for Codex CLI:

deplomo setup agent --agent codex

The command creates or updates .codex/config.toml with the Deplomo MCP settings and skill. You can ask Codex to use the configured tools, subject to permissions and the international environment; service creation and deployment are currently unavailable.

Compare Codex CLI with other coding agents

Coding agents offer different workflows. Explore AI coding agents for more options, including terminal-focused tools such as Claude Code or, if you prefer a graphical editor, read the guide Cursor to compare their features.

Access comes from your Deplomo CLI session
